Reasons for a Bear Market

by ItisLastThursday

Yes the markets can stay irrational longer than we can stay liquid. Yes Orange Man will make Pape Powell’s printer work overtime. Yes 19% unemployment is technically better than 20%. But there are more logical reasons for why we will have another crash and the Bears will reign supreme.

  1. Second wave of Covid: Pretty self explanatory. We see cases rising around the country, and Texas even delayed their opening. Cruises are waiting to reopen, and even when they do, no one will be on them. Disney Land is delaying its reopening. Hospitals are about to reach maximum capacity for the first time in around a month. People say the nation won’t tolerate a second lockdown. And while that may be true, when people see that death toll and infection rate rising, they’ll decide that getting their Big Macs might not be worth it.
  2. Third wave of Covid: I don’t think I have seen this anywhere, but is scientifically possible. Covid-19 is a type of coronavirus, which is a family of viruses with certain features. The common cold and the flu are prime examples. Coronaviruses mutate. All. The. Time. In the winter, we could see a mutated version of Covid-19 (Covid-20?), and then everything restarts all over again, especially since we probably won’t have a vaccine that doesn’t turn our brain into jello.
  3. Biden: With Orange Man not handling anything properly in the last month, and him losing in the polls, hair sniffing Biden actually has a chance. One of the Orange Man’s sticking points was the market. And in case you haven’t noticed, kangaroo dicks are in everyone’s ass.
  4. Cashing in: This rally has been historic. And with fear rising everywhere, you would have to be dumb, stupid, or dumb (huh), or a member of WSB to not cash out. And when you see your portfolio up 50% (or in our cases, down 50%), and then think about everything mentioned above, the big funds and boomers are bound to cash out.

I’m not a Bear or a Bull. I’m part of logic and human psychology gang. I’m excited to see what us autists can create together.
