Fast-food chain Steak ‘n Shake has announced plans to remove all microwaves from its 390 U.S. restaurants by April 15, 2026, as part of its ongoing effort to improve food quality.
“Steak n Shake is removing all microwaves from its restaurants. We expect every unit to be microwave-free by April 15. Quality restaurants don’t need microwaves,” the fast-food chain wrote in a post on X. “It is part of our journey to improve food quality and use traditional methods of cooking only. Eat Real Food.”
