Our school district sent an email changing the district calendar in anticipation of staff suffering from side effects of the 2nd dose of the vaccine.
Friday, March 19, will be a staff member work/in-service day, and students will not be in school. This also includes students participating in distance learning. We are making this change as we already have staff members scheduled to be out on this day, and additionally, about 100 staff members are scheduled to receive the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on the day prior. The concern is that we will not be able to staff our buildings appropriately if some staff members experience illness as a result of receiving the vaccine.
