Sessions vows ’emergency’ Supreme Court battles amid ‘outrageous’ discovery rulings by federal judges

This is a very important case.

The pending court challenges against the Trump administration’s decision to add a citizenship question, legal experts tell Fox News, face an uphill battle not only because conservatives now command a 5-4 majority on the Supreme Court, but also because traditionally it’s been the White House’s prerogative to decide whether to inquire about citizenship on the census.

Former President Barack Obama’s administration didn’t ask the question in the 2010 census amid fears it would cause illegal immigrants to avoid answering their census questions — and thus not count toward population totals used to determine the number of seats each state receives in the House of Representatives.

Basically Trump wants to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census. Obama didn’t have the question because there were fears that illegals wouldn’t answer. Why would Obama want illegals to answer? Because illegals counts for determining the number of Congressional seats (i.e., less House seats for Dems if we put the Question on there). This will likely end up in the USSC, possibly on an emergency basis because the Census must be finalized before a certain time.

As to this article, a NY federal court, in a challenge to this question, is allowing unusual discovery to take place…asking certain cabinet officials to come testify/get interviewed on the motive of adding the question.
