The agency added 17 million missing dates of death using internal systems and State Department data, updated 25 million records missing citizenship information via DHS SAVE, and is correcting another 8.5 million with inaccurate citizenship status. Commissioner Frank Bisignano called it the first effort of this scale and said accurate SSN records prevent fraud across federal programs.
