Stocks hit a record. Oil slips. Yields back off a 2002 high.

The bond market blinked. Tech did not.

  • The S&P 500 hit a record Tuesday, up about 0.6% in early trade. Fourth straight up day.
  • The Nasdaq also opened at a record, up about 0.7%.
  • Monday’s close was S&P 7,773.95, Nasdaq 27,477.31, Dow 51,267.90.
  • The 10 year yield fell to about 5.26%. The 30 year touched 5.70% on Monday, a 2002 high, then eased to about 5.64%.
  • Oil fell almost 2%. Brent slipped under $100. A G7 stockpile release and still flowing Middle East crude cooled the scare.
  • Nvidia moved closer to a $6 trillion market value. AMD rose after talk of more chip supply in 2027.
