Now that Elon Musk choked on the deal, Twitter is going all in on enforcing the neoliberal speech code hard core.
Even pointing out the obvious, that Levine is a monstrously freakish deviant with an agenda targeting children, is deemed “hate speech” by Twitter and removed.
They “generously” allow the harmless joke Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene keep her tweets, in this case, giving the thumbs up like Roman Emperors of old, because they need to keep harmless controlled opposition like Greene on the platform so people don’t just leave it en masse.
This total arbitrariness in who and when they choose to censor displays the absolute power of Big Tech to regulate political speech more than if they just made a blanket rule and stuck to it.
Twitter is allowing several anti-transgender tweets from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) that reference Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine to remain on its platform.
Both tweets are still posted on Twitter and include labeling from the social media platform that says, “This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about hateful conduct. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.”
