The EU is thinking about remote rationing of electricity

Limiting the power supply will be possible thanks to the smart meters that electricity distributors have been installing in all houses and condominiums for several years. Thanks to them, traders can act remotely, decreasing or increasing the power of the current supplied. In the peak periods performance is reduced.

The purpose of the measure is to remotely lower electricity consumption during peak hours, saving the gas used in power plants. As a consequence, the household appliances will no longer be able to work all at the same time in certain time slots.
