The FDA took away the GMO disclosure requirement on food labels

The FDA now allows manufacturers to hide their GMO ingredients behind a smart label (QR Code). You will still see the regular ingredients list but they used to have to put below that it contained bioengineered ingredients. Now you have to scan the QR code and go to the website to see that it’s bioengineered. For now the smart label is a pretty good indication that it’s GMO since there’s no motivation for non-gmo containing food to add the smart label.

We avoid giving our kids bioengineered food and we’re pretty pissed when we found out about the change because we unknowingly had bought GMO food for them.
