The Fed bought more blue-chip and junk bonds, and has started making Main Street loans

The Federal Reserve continued its purchases of corporate bonds in July, buying up both blue-chip and junk issues.

In addition, the central bank made its first move through the Main Street Lending Program, though the loans totaled just $92 million for a program that can lend $600 billion.
