The current political climate of either being forced to be a hardcore Republican or hardcore Democrat leaves no room for new ideas or ideologies. In the last presidential election, I feel like we were choosing between the lesser of two evils with Hillary being bought by big companies and Trump having huge conflicts of interest (just to give a few examples.) According to usnews.com, Americans have a lower than ever approval rate and want new people to be elected, but also see an increase in the average service of Senators and Representatives. (link: www.usnews.com/news/blogs/data-mine/2014/08/18/americans-still-hate-congress) This is a byproduct of those in power realizing that if the people are divided, they will be focused on fighting with each other instead of focusing on the bigger problems that are threatening their wellbeing.
