In Bologna, Italy, the ‘smart citizen wallet’ will be introduced, rewarding ‘righteous’ citizens with points.
Citizens will get points/rewards if they sort waste if they use public transport, if they manage energy well, if they do not get penalties from the municipal authority if they are active with the culture card.
At first glance, it looks like good intentions. But it is only a matter of time before rewards become sanctions (e.g. if you reject to get vaccinated or criticize the government).
By the way, this project of a “European digital identity portfolio” is led by the president of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen, a president who, let’s not forget, is not elected by the European citizens.
A social credit system which rewards the ‘righteous citizen’ is going to be introduced after this summer in Bologna (Italy) with the ‘smart citizen wallet.’
You ‘get points’ if you recycle, use public transports, etc…
