Russia Secretly Helping Iran Develop Supersonic Cruise Missiles…
The FT report indicates that the support continued throughout the US war with Iran, as Tehran intends to develop a new class of weapon capable of threatening US aircraft carriers
Russia has been secretly supporting Iranian missile development since 2023, according to a report in the Financial Times on Tuesday.
The goal of the program, codenamed C430L, was to help Iran develop missiles capable of taking out US Navy aircraft carriers in the Middle East.
In particular, they aimed to develop a ramjet propulsion system that would allow Iranian missiles to fly at several times the speed of sound.
Fast, low-flying missiles would give Western air defences less time to react increasing the impact of such an attack.
USA NEW WAVE OF STRIKES; TEHRAN FIRES BACK…
The U.S. military hit targets in Iran on Tuesday and Tehran fired missiles and drones at various sites across the region in response as hostilities flare once again in an intermittent war that has lasted more than six months. One U.S. strike hit a home hosting a wedding, killing five people and wounding dozens, local officials said.
U.S. Central Command said in a statement Tuesday evening that it had completed the latest barrage against Iranian military targets including air defense sites, radar systems and maritime assets.
The U.S. strikes followed others on Sunday that abruptly ended a month without military action and threatened to fully reignite a conflict that has spiked global oil prices and posed political problems for Republicans in November’s midterm congressional elections. The renewed fighting comes after President Donald Trump had appeared to pivot toward trying to bend Iran to his will through economic sanctions.
Americans in the Middle East were told to be aware of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions less than an hour before the president took to social media to threaten Iran with a fresh wave of attacks
Americans travelling or living in the Middle East have been warned of ‘potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions’ in the region as Trump threatens fresh attacks in Iran.
Donald Trump issued stark warning to Iran following confirmation that the US has launched fresh strikes on Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz. The US President said American forces were “as we speak” hitting Iranian targets close to the vital shipping route, and threatened that “the biggest attack of them all is waiting in the wings”.
The President’s Truth Social post came within hours of the US Consulate in the Middle East issuing a warning to Americans in the region. The US State Department said American citizens should be aware of potential flight disruption.
