Trump approval hits new lows as inflation accelerates and he pushes AI hard ahead of midterms.

Pew put Trump at 30 percent approval, 68 percent disapproval. Matches the low of his first term. Among his own 2024 voters it is down to 67 percent. Reuters/Ipsos showed 32 percent, a career low in that tracker. Only 17 percent approved of his handling of the cost of living. Other polls put him in the low to mid 30s, deeper underwater on the economy and the Iran war.

September CPI rose 0.6 percent for the month and 3.7 percent from a year earlier, up from 3.4 percent in August. Gasoline jumped 9.1 percent in September and is up about 34 percent year over year. Energy drove most of it. Core rose to 2.6 percent. National average gas around $4.33. Iran war and oil disruptions the main cited cause. Last major inflation read before November 3.

Trump rejects new AI rules, calls the technology super intelligence, and says the only guardrail needed is a strong and smart high IQ president. He dismisses safety concerns as a hoax and pushes data centers. A Reuters/Ipsos poll found 57 percent of registered voters, including a third of Republicans, say his administration has not taken AI risks seriously enough. 84 percent see AI as a threat to American workers. Majorities in both parties want stricter regulation. Data centers are drawing local fights over power costs. Affordability remains the top voter issue.
