A new book is coming out by author Edward J. Epstein on Edward Snowden. Epstein did an intensive study into Snowden’s revelations concerning the Intelligence Community, and he said Trump is right to challenge the Community’s status quo. He indicates that the Intelligence Community is so politicized that it has lost its balanced perspective and can no longer function as a nonpartisan entity. America, this is scary to say the least. This Country is in danger, as is our new administration. The only way I know how to combat this situation is to write and talk about it. I give President Trump a lot of credit for good gut instincts, so I hope he does not think the Intelligence Community has meant him well. At this point, I know he seems to have patched it up with them over the hacking deal, but he needs to know they do not wish him well.
In fact, they actually strayed to the Left, and they have tried to clear the way for Hillary Clinton’s path to the White House! They are a LEFT WING ORGANIZATION! Remember when the IRS targeted Republicans? If you are a Republican in this Country, you need to keep your eyes open and watch where you are going. We need to be aware that President Trump is being set up to fail by the Intelligence Community, and he has been right from the beginning. The American people have been and will continue to be fed information that we cannot trust. It is a serious situation, so don’t kid yourself. I know that we have a new CIA Director, Mike Pompeo, who has just been sworn in, and I pray he can handle what he finds inside. He definitely needs our prayers.
The journalist who first published the Snowden revelations, Glenn Greenwald, told Fox News the U.S. intelligence community has been conducting “a lot of subversion” and is now in a state of “open warfare” with the new administration.
Greenwald says during the campaign, CIA officials supported Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton because Trump opposed the agency’s primary policy priority, which was regime change in Syria.
Clinton’s more “confrontational and belligerent posture” toward Moscow was an additional attraction to them, he said.
Greenwald told Fox host Tucker Carlson that liberals and Democrats are “openly calling for and cheering for the intervention of the CIA, the intelligence community, the overall deep state, hoping — because they failed to do so — that this unelected faction in Washington will undermine and subvert and destroy the legitimacy of Donald Trump’s presidency before he’s even inaugurated.
“I think what you’re seeing is quite dangerous,” said Greenwald. “There really is at this point obvious, open warfare.”
Let us look at our new Director of the CIA:
Mike Pompeo, a conservative Republican from Kansas and a member of the House intelligence committee, faced a mostly friendly confirmation hearing Jan. 12.
He enrolled as a teenager at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, and graduated first in his class in 1986. He served in the Army at a time when the Soviet Union was America’s No. 1 adversary.
Mike Pompeo was sworn in Monday night as director of the CIA at a crucial time for U.S. national security as intelligence — traditionally a nonpartisan issue — has been thrust into the political arena.
I just ran across this article, and it reminded me of what Chuck Schumer said to Rachel Maddow concerning Trump and the CIA…it is chilling, and I want to make sure everyone knows of this.
This is not a game.
If a Republican elected official had publicly warned Obama not oppose a policy the Republicans and the CIA/NSA favored because “they have six ways from Sunday of getting back at you,” what would — what should — our response to that be? Mine would be horror and shock that a Republican had dared make that threat, followed by fear that he, and the agencies behind him, will make good on it. At which point, it’s farewell democracy, likely for a long long time.
Yet the following actually did happen (Greenwald again, my emphasis): “Just last week, Chuck Schumer issued a warning to Trump, telling Rachel Maddow that Trump was being ‘really dumb’ by challenging the unelected intelligence community because of all the ways they possess to destroy those who dare to stand up to them.” And yet there was no shock or fear, at least from Maddow or her viewers.
And Schumer really did use the phrase “they have six ways from Sunday of getting back at you.” The video is embedded here. Is that how Democrats plan to defeat Trump? Is it better, more comforting, if a Democrat makes that threat and appears to side with the security agencies’ (the deep state’s) strong-arm tactics?
A coup in the making — this really is not a game, and both sides are playing for keeps.
