UK Lockdown extended again: Government indicates restrictions to remain until SUMMER… starts “door to door” covid testing

The third national lockdown currently in place in England is set to be reviewed in the middle of this month and legislation on the restrictions runs out at the end of March. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has previously indicated he thought the UK could return to some form of normality by Easter.

But today his official spokesman appeared to suggest the restrictions could be extended beyond then.

He said the hope was “by the summer we will return to some sort of normality”.

U.K To Start “Door To Door” Covid Testing

“Mass coronavirus testing is being launched in parts of Surrey amid fears the South African variant causing panic around the world is spreading in the community.

Health chiefs will carry out door-to-door swabs in the Goldsworth Park and St Johns areas of Woking, regardless of whether people have symptoms or not.

It came after two Woking residents tested positive for the variant despite having no travel links, becoming the first two cases not directly connected to South Africa”
