Ukraine launches 1,000+ drones at St. Petersburg oil sites after Trump’s energy ceasefire claim

Ukraine sent more than 1,000 drones into Russia overnight Saturday into Sunday, hitting the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal and the Ruchi oil depot. Fires broke out at both sites. One person was killed and five wounded in the city. Russia’s defense ministry said it downed 1,015 drones. The strikes came after Trump said on October 11 that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an “energy ceasefire,” a claim neither side fully confirmed. Trump later called Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries a “disgrace.” Zelensky said Russia kept hitting Ukrainian energy sites and that Kyiv was done with the pause. Russian strikes killed two people in Ukraine overnight.
