United Nations spokesman Farhan Haq recently faced a puzzling question from Chinese journalist Edward Xu, who asked Haq to explain the difference between the Russian occupation of a part of Ukraine with the United States’ military occupation of a third of Syria. Haq’s response went viral, as he actually asserted that the United States has no troops stationed in Syria.
