The stablecoin market is worth about $300 billion, and by law every $1 issued is backed by roughly 80 cents of Treasury bills. Treasury Secretary Bessent says it could grow toward $4 trillion. At that size, stablecoins would hold about a quarter of all T-bills outstanding by 2030.
Here is the real game. As the national debt passes $40 trillion, the Treasury needs structural demand for its paper. Stablecoins are becoming a captive buyer. Every dollar that flows into crypto is now a dollar helping fund the deficit.
