The hotline had fielded nearly 3,500 calls from Washington and helped identify almost 1,800 potential trafficking victims before it went dark. The state’s response? Agencies gave themselves until August 2027 to finish cleaning up posters, websites, and the actual statutes still pointing victims to a dead number. Meanwhile the Department of Transportation is out there hanging more than 400 signs at rest stops, some of which still list the disconnected line.
