What is This US Govt. and Media Obsession With Insisting That Russia’s a “Junior Partner” to China?

by Chris Black

Mass media keeps pushing the meme that Russia could not survive without help from China.

This is nothing more than a coordinate effort to paint China as the “final boss” for the upcoming Sino-American War.

Let’s dig into this article a little bit.

First off, the Financial Times’ portrayal of Russia being industrially empty, relying solely on China for everything that is not a commodity, is absurd, and demonstrably untrue.

Russia has a huge industrial base—unlike the West, whose industry is hollowed out.

Second, it’s no secret that Russia has one-tenth the population of China, and has a smaller economy as a result.

But the US has a quarter of the population of China, and a smaller (real) economy as well.

Does THAT mean that the US is a “junior partner” to China?

Third, the FT claims that Russia has only managed to endure the sanctions because Beijing threw Russia “an economic lifeline”—again, not true.

If anyone threw Moscow a “lifeline”, it was India, whose imports of oil have increased 15-fold over the past 13 months.

Properly said, an “economic lifeline” would be unsecured loans or grants to a country—like what the US and the West has done for the Kiev Regime.

No country has done that for Russia—they have simply traded with Russia, buying what they are selling at fair market prices.

The article claims, “Moscow sees its economic reliance on China as crucial to its prospects of winning the war, a person close to the Kremlin said.”

So it’s tacitly claiming Russia weathered the Western sanctions ONLY because of its relationship with China.

And it’s stating outright that China is THE reason the Russians might win the war against NATO in Ukraine.

It’s a false-narrative framing device: “As Ukraine can only fight and survive with US help—Russia can only fight and survive with Chinese help!”

Therefore, the REAL enemy is not Russia—it’s the evil country backing Russia:

China.

The article (and many like it) are portraying Russia as the “junior partner” to China so that in the West, China is identified as the “real” enemy.

The Final Boss, in videogame parlance.

Moving forward, the collapsing military situation in Ukraine will be blamed on the non-existent “Chinese lifeline” to Russia.

This humiliating (and damaging) defeat for the West in Ukraine will be blamed not on Russia—but on Russia’s “senior partner”: China.

This allows the US to pivot in its animosity away from Russia (the mere “junior partner”) and blame everything on China—the Final Boss.

This is a propaganda strategy, to make it easier to first carry out sanctions against China—and then eventually go to war with China.
