Why is America’s Suicide Rate Skyrocketing?

by Chris Black

Motto: the future ain’t what it used to be.

Let me begin with some grim factoids: suicide is now the tenth leading cause of death in the United States. Every year, almost 45,000 Americans “blow their brains out” (most of the suicides involve firearms), and for every “successful” suicide, if I may use the word, 25 attempt and fail at it, fortunately. More than half suicides involve guns, hence the hyper-inflated gun crime stats used by the left to snuff the second amendment, and there are 123 suicides per day on average in the Land of the Free, Home of the Brave. White males make for 70 percent of suicides, as per 2016 data, while men overall die by suicide 3.53x more often than women, with middle aged white men in particular being susceptible to commit suicide.

So, if you were wondering what the left’s brave new world of social justice and progressivism has brought us, I mean  besides Donald Trump, psychiatrists prescribing antidepressants like candy and smartphones smarter than their users, well, the answer is not happiness. Definitely not happiness.  Over the past 2 decades, America’s suicide rate has increased by thirty percent. And that’s huge. A CDC report from last week describes how suicide rates have spiked, let me quote, “among both sexes, all racial/ethnic groups, and all urbanization levels.”  For example, there were twice as many suicides than homicides last year, let that sink in. Suicide rates increased dramatically in the Northern Plains/Western states, the likes of North Dakota and Montana. The latter still boasts the US’ overall highest per capita suicide rate, despite being a traditionalist, low crime and relatively homogenous state, with most of the suicides being due to war veterans killing themselves like there’s no tomorrow. Gay people also surpass straights quite dramatically in terms of suicide rates, and why is that happening is still a mystery. Maybe gays kill themselves because society hates them, or something along these lines, who knows? Or maybe they hate themselves.

Anyway, almost 77% of the suicides last year (2017) were by males, with 83,6 percent of all suicides being committed by non hispanic whites, despite them being only 62 percent of the population. According to studies, suicide rates are way higher among divorced men compared to married guys, and also higher among atheists, as opposed to those backward religious bible thumpers.

What does that mean? Well, if you’re an atheist divorced gay middle aged white dude, you’re probably screwed. Joke aside, what’s up with whites in the US “terminating” themselves at unprecedented rates? One answer could be our highly lucrative mental-health industry (read mass suicide pills), a 200 billion/year business. If you were wondering about what the precursors to suicide are, the answer is treatment for anxiety and chronic depression. See, we don’t seem to spend enough dough on pills and/or mental health treatment, these are rookie numbers, we gotta pump those numbers up, right? Or so they tell us on the lobotomy box every day.

What nobody’s talking about is that over the exact same time-span America’s suicide rates have skyrocketed by thirty percent, the number of Americans taking antidepressants almost tripled. I remember growing up in a day and age when having feelings was not equated to having mental illness or as mental health issue. Nowadays, the human condition was transformed into a highly lucrative (if you’re a psychiatrist or a big pharma company) business. Almost all suicides are due to people failing to handle powerful feelings, and despite the popular wisdom, I really don’t think we need more pills and more psychiatrists to mitigate the issue of “muh feels”. You know, maybe your friends and/or your family should step in and help you. Also, having a future, a job and a girlfriend might help. By the way, if you think I’m making this up, the most common reason for suicide last year, as per the CDC report, was relationship problems, which accounted for 40 percent of suicides.

Another reason for America’s white middle class’ suicide epidemic is “deaths of despair”, due to the death of the American Dream. Many choose to end themselves because there’s no future left in the US for the Average Joe six-pack, courtesy of the brave new global economy, that no longer requires their services, nor wants them. By the way, during the Great Depression, America’s suicide rate was almost fifty percent higher than today’s. So, maybe something’s going on in the “Economic Realm”, and The Donald is right, as usual. Making America Great Again really means fixing the economy, stupid. What do you think?
