The 52-year-old woman who was fatally shot Aug. 16 south of Vero Beach has been identified, said Indian River County sheriff’s officials.
Dawn Kriskewic was identified as the woman, said officials via news release on Aug. 18. Officials had been locating and notifying her next of kin before they could release her identity.
Sheriff’s deputies received a 911 call about 8:40 a.m. Aug. 16 reporting a woman in the roadway in the 500 block of First Street, south of Vero Beach, officials said.
They found the woman with an apparent gunshot wound and began life-saving measures, officials said. She was taken to a trauma center, where she later was pronounced deceased.
