While the jury remains divided, authorities arrested a 56-year-old woman outside the courthouse Tuesday afternoon in an incident involving alleged intimidation connected to a criminal proceeding.
Dawn Light of Sutton was taken into custody at approximately 3:40 p.m., according to Massachusetts State Police.
She is expected to face a charge involving the intimidation of a witness, juror or person providing information in connection with criminal proceedings.
Police did not immediately release additional information about the arrest, including whether the alleged conduct was specifically connected to the Clancy trial.
However, the arrest occurred only minutes after the jurors were dismissed from the courthouse for the day.
Massachusetts State Police confirmed that Light was arrested outside the courthouse following the conclusion of court proceedings. She is expected to be arraigned Wednesday morning.
The timing has raised questions about whether the incident could affect the trial. Either the defense or prosecution could potentially seek a mistrial if either side believes the jury has been improperly influenced.
