Five suspects entered a data center construction site near Maries Road in Sterling around midnight July 31.
They loaded large copper wire spools into a U-Haul truck.
Deputies chased them and the U-Haul crashed.
Three men were arrested: 21-year-old Jhamal Micah Kalil Muskelly of Alexandria, 23-year-old Demetrius Shaun Charlton of Falls Church, and 18-year-old Cordell Lamar Carter of Washington DC.
All charged with grand larceny.
Two others escaped.
Stolen copper valued at more than $100,000 was recovered.
Two of the arrested men were already on parole or probation.
