OCC Quarterly Bank Derivatives Report: There is $177T notional value of derivatives in the US banks alone, with assets only $14T. Notional amounts for Holding companies is $234T, while assets at $19T. $140T are set in OTC swaps. OTC contracts account for ~96% of all derivative trades.
