The schedule:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 22: General Debate begins.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 22: UN Climate Summit sessions include an Energy Transition dialogue.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 23: the UN holds its Climate Summit, focused on climate action and the energy transition.
  • AI governance is also on the UN’s agenda, although the specific AI meeting I found was Sept. 10, not Wednesday this week. The UN General Assembly president has explicitly framed the issue as making AI “serve humanity.”
