WIKILEAKS Calls Out Tech Companies Who Have Not Responded To Their Offer To Help Against CIA ATTACKS

Wikileaks and Julian Assange are calling out tech companies who have not responded to his offer to help ward off CIA Attacks.  Of course, one such company who is shying away from help is Google, but Assange says that may have something to do with government contracts they may have.  
I was just going to say that Google does work with the government program, DARPA, but actually I just found an article stating Google was pulling out of robotics, which is an area in which DARPA excels.  This is a very interesting article, so I think I will shift focus here for a moment and introduce this news.

Those worried about a future of Google-controlled robots taking over the world need fret no more, as the search engine giant has reportedly decided to sell off its advanced Boston Dynamics robotics research division.  
Google X executive Jonathan Rosenberg is said to have told members of Google’s robotics team — including those at Boston Dynamics — that the division “cannot spend 30-plus percent of our resources on things that take ten years,” adding that “there’s some time frame that we need to be generating an amount of revenue that covers expenses and (that) needs to be a few years.” Toyota and Amazon, which each have significant investments in robotics, are tabbed as likely acquirers.
 
The following is most interesting:
Boston Dynamics, thrust into the public consciousness through YouTube videos of its quadruped robots, was acquired by Google in 2013. The focus has since shifted toward humanoid robots, which is said to have caused some concern among Google’s public relations staff.  
“There’s excitement from the tech press, but we’re also starting to see some negative threads about it being terrifying, ready to take humans’ jobs,” Google X spokeswoman Courtney Hohne is said to have told colleagues. She added that the group would not “want to trigger a whole separate media cycle about where BD really is at Google.
OK…so Google is getting out of robotics as the the focus shifts toward humanoid robots…yeah, that is a field that Elon Musk says truly frightens him.  He says to focus on AI is to summon the “demon.”
 
Now, lets shift back to Wikileaks and Julian Assange.  Assange says that companies like Mozilla have already exchanged letters after his organization offered its help in working with them by offering the technical details of the CIA’s alleged hacking methods.  I have to say that Assange seems to be getting a little overbearing here.  He certainly is judging Tech companies, whom he deems are not acting fast enough.  I would say he needs to give them more time.
Google and Apple say that if their customers have up-to-date patches, they will be covered and protected.  Hmmm…that is interesting, but I do not understand technical issues, so I will refrain from going any further with that.
 
The following is quite harsh in my opinion:  WikiLeaks said it plans to take action against technology companies that “continue to drag their feet” in communicating over software and products that might be vulnerable to the CIA’s hacking program revealed in the “Vault 7” publication on March 7.  Wow, can they legally do that?  What gives Assange such power to say, “plans to take action.”  How does he plan to do that?
 
It looks like he is planning on publishing a chart on who has asked for his help, and who has not according to the following statement. “Should such companies choose to not secure their users against CIA or NSA attacks users may prefer organizations such as Mozilla or Europeans companies that prioritize their users over government contracts,” Assange said. “Should these companies continue to drag their feet we will create a league table comparing company responsiveness and government entanglements so users can decide for themselves.”
 
I thought at first he meant he would take legal action, but he just means making the information available through Wikileaks of those who respond and those who do not.   He is getting ready to make some enemies in this situation, but Assange does not seem to feel threatened by anyone.  I don’t know how he manages to keep his chin up, as his time at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London is running out.  I wish President Trump would pardon him, as we need him on our side.
