After the failed 13th round of Corps Commander-level talks, tensions have escalated along the LAC. While China has refused to disengage from the Hot Springs, approaching harsh winter will only add to the woes. Amid rising border tensions, India has been ramping up its infrastructure along the LAC, particularly in Ladakh.
Extreme altitude and sub-zero temperatures in the harsh terrain has always been a challenge for jawans at the LAC. According to military officials, India has reportedly deployed around 50,000 to 60,000 additional troops along the LAC. Indian Army is said to have restructured some of its existing formations, including its strike corps.
