CDC Study: Guns Used in Self Defense Almost 4 Times More Often Than Used by Criminals

by Chris Black

Motto:  An armed man is a Citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

Considering Canada’s latest  (and worst in thirty years) mass killing from yesterday (10 people dead and others injured), it’s pretty obvious that when a lunatic/fanatic really wants to kill people, guns are not a requirement. Another “almost mass-shooting” took place in the US last week, when a crazy dude  walked (apparently naked) into a Tennessee Waffle House and started shooting people with an AR 15 rifle. It would have been a massacre, but he was stopped by a heroic veteran who grabbed his rifle, after he killed for people. Guess what: he wasn’t allowed to own such a weapon, the Waffle House was a gun-free zone and the attacker (Travis Reinking, 29) had his guns seized in 2017 after he was arrested trying to enter a restricted area at the White House. The FBI ordered local police to confiscate Travis’ guns, and also his firearms license was revoked, yet that did not stop him from killing four people with a “banned assault weapon” or whatever nonsense the MSM is spewing nowadays.

Which brings me to today’s story about the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study, an unpublished study that is (I wonder why) that found there are more than two million defensive gun uses every year, i.e. law abiding Americans are using guns in self defense way more frequently than criminals use theirs for unsavory acts. It’s pretty interesting to see that the data gathered in 3 consecutive years (1996, 1997 and 1998) was kept under wraps, as the CDS chose not to disclose their findings to the general public. Why? The answer is obvious: the gun-grabbing leftist media/politicians doesn’t want the American public to know about any study regarding guns that does not further their agenda. The recently discovered/uncovered study was made by the CDC in the 90s and it found 2.46 million defensive gun uses per year. Another similar study was performed by Gary Kleck, who is a Florida State University criminologist, working together with his partner Marc Gertz, and the results were similar: 2.2 million defensive gun uses every year, i.e. more than 2 million law abiding Americans are using their 2nd Amendment rights to defend themselves against criminals. The 2.46 million figure implies that law abiding citizens (read victims of crimes) are using their guns 3.6 times as often as they’re used by criminals offensively. The CDC survey on defensive gun use from the 90s asked (among other things) if, let me quote:  “During the last 12 months, have you confronted another person with a firearm, even if you did not fire it, to protect yourself, your property, or someone else?” The answers did not include scenarios when the victims used their guns for hunting purposes or as part of their job (as in policing).

Now, the question is, why isn’t the NRA driving this point home every day? The first 10 amendments are the Bill of Rights, which means they’re absolute. The right to keep and bear arms (the second amendment) is absolute. Without the second amendment there will be NO FREEDOM (including of speech) left, as the 2nd protects the 1st. The powers that be (read Godless communists/globalists or whatever) want the population to think that guns are always used for evil purposes. That is an out and out lie, and now there’s scientific proof of that. How many criminals think twice about robbing someone because they believe their potential victim might be armed? The funny thing is, such a study was actually done. They surveyed convicted felons. It’s been a while since I’ve read it (couple years) but it wasn’t very surprising. A very high percentage indicated that they would not have performed their crime that day or selected a different target altogether if they knew there was a high chance of being confronted by an armed citizen. Just try to explain that to a “liberal”…
