China is due to release third quarter GDP and September activity data. Economists surveyed by Reuters expect 4.4 percent year over year growth, up slightly from 4.3 percent in the second quarter, which was the weakest pace in more than three years. That would still sit below the lower end of Beijing’s full year target of 4.5 to 5 percent. On a quarterly basis, growth is seen at 1.1 percent. Exports of tech goods and some policy support are credited for the modest pickup. Fixed asset investment has remained weak. Separate customs data already showed goods trade up 18.8 percent year over year in the first three quarters, the fastest pace for that period in nearly five years, with strong gains in integrated circuits and computer components. Analysts say further stimulus may still be needed.
