US stock futures rise after last week’s AI selloff; oil slips from highs

US equity futures rebounded Sunday night into early Monday. Nasdaq 100 futures gained about 0.4 to 0.6 percent. S&P 500 futures rose about 0.2 to 0.4 percent. Dow futures were up roughly 0.2 percent, or about 100 points. The moves follow Friday’s selloff in which the Nasdaq posted its worst week since June, driven by AI and semiconductor stocks. A closely watched chip gauge had its longest losing streak since 2008. Investors are watching a busy earnings week that includes Tesla and Meta. The VIX touched a four month high on Friday.

Brent crude futures traded near $108.50 to $108.80, down roughly 1 percent from Friday’s close near $109.86. WTI was near $101. Oil held near multi month highs after Ukraine’s large drone strikes on Russian facilities and ongoing Middle East risks, including tanker incidents in the Persian Gulf and Houthi activity. Physical markets remain tight.
