Michigan joins 21-state challenge to public-charge rule
Michigan joined the lawsuit, bringing the coalition to 21 states plus D.C.; DHS estimates the rule could reduce federal Medicaid/CHIP payments to states by about $4.05 billion annually and SNAP payments by about $1.02 billion.
New York City-led coalition files separate lawsuit
New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, King County and Santa Clara County filed a separate federal challenge over the rule’s treatment of means-tested benefits.
