France studies restricting the charging of electric cars this winter

The French Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, presented it among the saving measures of the French network operator, RTE

She estimates that 100,000 vehicles could be added to the application to save nearly 100 million watts.

“The use of existing electrical recharging plugs in the garages of the buildings could be restricted to emergency use between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., as well as between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.”.

This is how the 100-page document ‘Perspectives for the electrical system for the autumn-winter 2022-2023′ of the operator of the French electrical network RTE says. The advisory goes on to warn that “given the three days’ notice provided for the red Ecowatt days, these needs should be limited (vehicles could have been recharged overnight).”
