Emergency Alert went to citizens of Houston to Shelter in Place due to Chemical Fire at a metal plating company near the Galleria / Bellaire area.
Fire started around 4 am and the alert went out 5 hours later.
Metal plating can be done with Cyanide, Chromium, Cadmium, Silver, Gold, Brass and bronze, and Zinc. The last category is the solvents which includes Benzene, TZE, Trichloroethylene, Methylene chloride, and Perchloroethylene.
Due to a chemical fire at 6200 Royalton in Houston, Bellaire residents are advised to shelter in place. We recommend you close doors, windows and turn off A/C to limit exposure. We will keep you posted with updates.
