And while many attribute the shift to a racist backlash, the reality is that some 9 million Americans voted for Obama AND Trump – and many Obama voters also stayed home rather than vote for Hillary Clinton. And the reason is primarily because Obama failed to deliver on his promise of positive, progressive social and economic change.
