Trump’s real handlers kept Bannon in the White House as an ornament. He was key in overseeing Trump’s successful 2016 white populist presentation.
Once in office, Bannon had very little power or sway on policy matters.
When Trump took his advice to say “both sides” after Charlottesville, the Jews in Trump’s orbit bounced him.
