The part that blew up online was Councilman Siegel racing to camera with the sideswipe-then-five-shots-through-the-back-window story. Chief Davis basically told him to sit down. That’s not what she’s hearing. She’s hearing a short foot chase. She also said she hadn’t even gotten the federal briefing yet, so stop talking. The car still looks smashed on the passenger side and the back glass has holes. Pictures don’t finish the timeline. That “wife already confessed he tried to drive off” bit? Not in the official briefing. Lawyer later put a name on him. DHS didn’t show up to the city presser. File’s still open.
