JPMorgan Chase, Coca-Cola, AMD and 4 other companies objected today to having their shares included on a proposed blockchain-based trading platform run by OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, the parent of the New York Stock Exchange. The objections bring the total to 33 companies. On October 4, OKXICE had proposed round-the-clock trading in 62 U.S.-listed stocks, with transactions settled in stablecoins. The SEC’s new framework opened the door to tokenized stock trading, but nearly half of the original companies now listed have objected. Wall Street is moving toward tokenization, yet major corporations do not want outside platforms deciding how their shares are represented and traded.
