Elon Musk posted today that Neuralink’s first product is called Telepathy. It enables high speed communication with computers or humans simply by thinking. Output bandwidth will vastly exceed the fastest human speech or typing in a few years. The post quoted Neuralink’s update from October 29 on a 72 hour hackathon with one of its speech restoration study participants. Engineers prototyped features to improve thought based communication. Musk also said the second product is Blindsight, ready from an engineering standpoint and waiting on regulatory approval, to let even those who are completely blind or have never seen to see. Neuralink has been running human implants since its first patient received the N1 chip earlier, with threads and electrodes in the motor cortex for cursor and speech tasks.
