Iran’s president spoke at the U.N. on Wednesday. He is the first leader from a country at war with the United States to address the Assembly in New York in decades.
He spoke to Trump directly. Iran is ready for dialogue. It will not accept “the language of force.” “We did not bend the knee.”
On nuclear work he said Iran wants energy, not a bomb. “No nuclear weapons and no limitations to peaceful nuclear technology.”
He held up photos of the late Ali Khamenei and of more than 150 schoolchildren killed in Minab at the start of the war.
He rejected the terror label. “We have been the victims of terrorism.” “We are not terrorists.” He accused the United States and Israel of hitting civilian sites.
PBS flagged one false line. He said Iran did not hit civilians. Mariners and migrant workers have been killed at sea in this war.
On Hormuz he said other countries use the strait while Iran is boxed in.
Shafaq reported that the U.S. delegation walked out during the speech.
Senators asked Rubio to treat U.S. journalist Reza Valizadeh, jailed in Iran, as an urgent case.
