Record-breaking rain hits France again, Paris breaks rainfall record set in 1960

Parts of France saw the equivalent of 50 days of rainfall in just 24 hours on Tuesday.
The heavy rain which has hit France in recent weeks has left destruction in its wake in certain parts of the country… and in some places it has also broken records.
Several streams are out of bed in Béarn. The municipality of Salies-de-Béarn is particularly affected. About 1,000 firefighters’ rescues have been conducted since Tuesday.
