Rep. D-Hawaii Tulsi Gabbard Makes Trip To Syria – Meets With Clergy, Syrian People, And al-Assad – Recommends Assad Stay In Power – Infuriates Some In Congress.

Tulsi Gabbard, Democrat from Hawaii, Iraq war veteran, and counselor to President Trump made what some are calling a secret trip to Syria.  She met with President Trump to discuss Syria and fighting the Islamic State before she left.  I see this trip by Gabbard a step in the right direction by the United States in finding a resolution in the war in Syria.  Afterall, the United States under President Obama and the influence of Hillary Clinton has participated in an interventionist policy of toppling world leaders, then arming what they deemed as “moderate rebels” to take over the battered Country.  Of course, this was the way the US handled Libya and Iraq, too.  All one has to do to see how that has worked for the US is took look at the Countries as they stand now.

Libya is a non-country, and Iraq is filled with terrorists.

Although Gabbard told Tucker Carlson of FOX NEWS she did not see eye to eye with President Trump they both have the same goal: to end the way in Syria. In November, she accepted an invitation from President-elect Donald Trump to discuss Syria and the US efforts to fight Al-Qaeda and Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), sparking speculation that he might appoint her to a Cabinet post.  “Where I disagree with President-elect Trump on issues, I will not hesitate to express that disagreement,” she said at the time. “However, I believe we can disagree, even strongly, but still come together on issues that matter to the American people and affect their daily lives.”On December 8, Gabbard introduced the Stop Arming Terrorists Act, which would prohibit the US government from arming and funding “Sunni militant groups working to overthrow the Assad regime, such as the Levant Front, Jabhat Fateh al-Sham [Al-Nusra Front], and al Qaeda,” in the words of Foreign Policy.  Gabbard will probably be working overtime now to combat those on Capitol Hill who really don’t want a peaceful end to the Syrian war.  You know those Hillary Clinton/Obama leftovers who still seek to overthrow Assad.
Gabbard said everywhere she went in Syria, the people asked why the United States was arming the terrorists, who seek to kill the Syrian people and overthrow their President.  Of course, one cannot explain to these people that this is not what the US is doing, because in reality it is.  Those moderate rebels that Hillary and Obama have trained and supported are not moderate rebels at all!  They are terrorists trained in the purpose to overthrow Assad…plain and simple.

“If we profess to care for the Syrian people, if we want to end the suffering for them, we have to be willing to meet with whomever we need to in order to accomplish that,” Gabbard said.
She explained that’s what she spoke about with Assad, and he believes he shares a common goal with the U.S.: defeating ISIS and its allies.
Gabbard said that she also spoke to the Syrian people, who called for the U.S. to stop arming anti-Syrian government rebels.
“That is exactly what my legislation does. The Stop Arming Terrorists bill makes it so that we are no longer fueling and providing support to militias and groups who are working directly with Al Qaeda in Syria to try to overthrow this government.”
