A ROMANIAN thug who was injured while trying to murder his wife has won a £17,500 payout from the NHS for “criminal negligence”.
Dorinel Cojanu stabbed his former wife, Daniela, with an eight-inch blade at their home in Watford in 2015 during an alcohol-fuelled rage. She suffered severe injuries and spent almost four months in hospital after the attack. Cojanu sustained deep cuts on two fingers of his right hand. They required immediate surgery but this did not take place because of security concerns
NHS lawyers unsuccessfully argued that his “own criminal actions” were to blame.
