September 18 changes the rules for immigrants using SNAP and Medicaid

Savings: estimated $13B YEARLY because of as many as 5.6 million migrants losing taxpayer benefits 🔥

ABSOLUTELY BASED!

The move has been long-coming, as the Trump admin has been barreling towards making clear that NO FOREIGNER has a right to come to America and LEECH off the taxpayer dollar.

The benefits included in the public charge law are food stamps, Medicaid, government housing and more

Expect green cards to be revoked or declined.

This is ENFORCING EXISTING LAW and Democrats don’t stand a chance in court! But I would NOT be surprised if an activist judge first blocks the policy before it makes its way up the federal court system, possibly to SCOTUS

But the executive authority here is rock solid. DENY, DEPORT, AMERICANS FIRST 🇺🇸

Factcheck:

The core claim is mostly accurate. The public charge rule originates in the 1882 Immigration Act and remains in statute. DHS is rescinding the narrower 2022 rule effective Sept 18 2026, restoring broad officer discretion to deny green cards or entry based on likely future use of means-tested benefits (SNAP, Medicaid, housing etc). DHS projects ~$13B annual savings from resulting disenrollment. Multiple states have sued.

Caveats: It does not revoke existing green cards. The 5.6M figure is a high-end estimate of people (including US citizens in mixed households) who may forgo benefits due to chilling effects, not a direct cut.
