Shooting reported at Baton Rouge WALMART… All Units Responding… OFFICIALS: ‘NO ACTIVE SHOOTER’

LOUISIANA — Officials with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office were responding to a shooting a Walmart store Tuesday.

The situation was unfolding at the Walmart Supercenter — 10550 Burbank Drive.

Authorities said the scene is not an active shooter situation, but the scene is active. Detectives have the situation under control.

EMS said there were no patients transported from the Walmart. A person did drive to Baton Rouge General with a gunshot wound, and officials are trying to determine whether that person came from the Walmart incident.

Law enforcement and medical personnel responded Tuesday afternoon to reports of shots fired at the Walmart on Burbank Drive, but no injuries have been confirmed and there is no indication that there is an active shooter, officials said.

“It’s a big, active scene, but we haven’t found any victims at the moment,” said East Baton Rouge Emergency Medical Services spokesman Mike Chustz. He clarified that there is not an active shooter.
