After no charges were filed against warring gang members arrested and released following a deadly broad daylight shootout in a residential Chicago neighborhood, public quarreling between Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx continued into its second day Tuesday, as Foxx called a rare news conference imploring the mayor to avoid trying the case in the media and “tell the truth.”
Foxx’s office explained that prosecutors had “determined that the evidence was insufficient to meet our burden of proof to approve felony charges,” a spokeswoman said, adding that police officials agreed with the decision.
The cops are right there in the video while the shooting happens ffs… likely have the entire thing on bodycam and dashcam, and don’t even need the vid at the link.
Crime is legal in Shitcago.
