“So we are very probably looking at a global recession, with no end in sight,” noted political hack posing as an economist, Paul Krugman, concluded in The New York Times the day after Trump’s election last November. “I suppose we could get very lucky somehow. But on economics, as on everything else, a terrible thing has just happened.”
This is just one of many examples of fake news and overhyped hyperbole in the age of President Donald J. Trump. As jobs continue to be added at encouraging rates and the stock market continues its extended run, Krugman was dead wrong by far. At least, so far. While forecasting the economic future is far from an easy thing to do, political pundits populating the mainstream media have constantly downplayed the economic successes achieved under the Trump administration to this point, falling ill to Trump Derangement Syndrome, jumping from failed narrative to failed narrative about why this president we have today is illegitimate or dangerous.
We are finally starting to see progress on the economy in terms of immigration and restoration of law and order. Issues of national security and true America First immigration reform are significant reasons why Donald Trump was elected last year. As we approach the Donald’s first full year in office this weekend, we are seeing some encouraging signs in the homeland security department.
For instance, Trump’s Homeland Security is pursuing charges against many leaders of sanctuary cities across the U.S. On Tuesday the 16th, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen confirmed that she and her department are asking federal prosecutors about leveling criminal charges against sanctuary cities that refuse to cooperate with federal authorities removing illegal aliens from our cities and towns.
On Wednesday, we learned that federal immigration officials are preparing for a major sweep in Northern California after California declared itself a sanctuary state last year. ICE plans to arrest up to 1,500 illegal aliens, mostly in the Bay Area, as reported by the San Francisco Chronicle, according to a source familiar with the operation.
As California begins to quiver over the federal government actually enforcing the law, ICE Enforcement Director Tom Homan said the reckless policies passed by state representatives in states such as California, put his federal officers and local communities both at more risk since they have to go out and arrest illegal immigrants out in those communities instead of working with local law enforcement to get it done in our jails and through the proper channels.
In a best case scenario, local elected officials would be charged in human struggling if they continued to shield illegal immigrants from the federal government, as proposed by Mr. Horman last July in a Washington Times interview.
However, the specifics have yet to be hammered out about what we are to do with the almost one million “Dreamers” in our midst, or illegal immigrants who came here with their families and were made legal temporarily by the Obama administration’s flimsy executive order. Today, the Trump administration is angling to appeal a DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) ruling straight to the Supreme Court after a federal judge ordered the president to not let the illegal immigration program end until March 2018.
DACA has protected roughly 800,000 illegal aliens brought to the U.S. illegally as children or who simply overstayed their visas. Now, the White House is calling the federal judge’s ruling on the matter “outrageous” and Trump tweeted out, “just shows everyone how broken and unfair our court system is.” Whatever it reveals, there seems to be something imminent in the immigration realm. We will perhaps finally figure out what the hell to do with the millions of illegal immigrants living in our cities from Portsmouth, New Hampshire to San Diego, California and Seattle, Washington to St. Petersburg, Florida, we all want to live under law and order and security and safety. We all want what is best for our kids and grandkids in America and do not want to pursue diversity for its own sake. We need a merit-based immigration system and we need to end the status quo immigration policies that simply encourage more illegal immigration to our great country.
Discussing the recent DACA ruling, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement that “It defies both law and common sense for DACA… to somehow be mandated nationwide by a single district court in San Francisco.” Solid point, there Mr. AG. Deal with what is right and wrong and not what is politically convenient. In this case, supporting common sense immigration that prioritizes U.S. citizens over illegal aliens is a slam dunk decision. Our friends on the left simply have no proposals to bring any kind of order to this mess of an immigration system they have. They only want skirt existing federal law in order to obtain the votes of the illegals that are allowed to obtain driver’s licenses in some blue states such as California and therefore voter registration in many cases.
Keep voting for bigger government though! Looking at you, West Coast: California, Oregon, and Washington. Let’s get it together!
Sessions also stated that DACA was “an entirely discretionary non-enforcement policy that was implemented unilaterally by the last administration,” and Congress had rejected similar proposals brought forth as bills to the floor of the House.
President Trump has attacked judges in the past for stopping the momentum of the execution of his agenda over the last year, especially on immigration. Multiple times, overreaching judges have been put in their place by the limits of power put on our three branches of government by the Constitution while Trump has been held in check by liberal judges who think he is going too far. Trump announced back in September that it would cancel DACA, enforcing federal immigration law. Nothing scandalous there.
DNC Chairman Tom Perez threw a hissy fit last week, saying Trump’s move to rescind DACA “was never about the rule of law. It was about deporting Dreamers and using them as bargaining chips in future political negotiations while holding their futures hostage.” There is no other civilized country on earth that caters to illegal immigrants as much as we do. It is preposterous and it exemplifies the stance of the Democratic Party today.
This is about law and order and it is about making America great again. We need to build the wall by enforcing federal immigration law and shipping out whoever is here illegally and not contributing to our society. This is what all other civilized nations do. This is what we must do.
End DACA, Mr. President. Drain the Swamp of these open border Republicans and Democrats. Today.
