  1. Wait a cotton-pickin’ gosh-darned minute here!
They’re closing another thousand on top the 900 they announced last year AFTER taxpayers bailed them out with special financing deals at fixed long-term low interest rates not available in the private marketplace?
I DON’T UNDERSTAND THE MONEY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE USED TO SAVE THEIR WORST PERFORMING STORES? WHY DID TAXPAYERS HAVE LOSE MONEY TO SEE THEM CLOSE ANYWAY?
Is this, “capitalism,” when taxpayers foot the bill and still lose it all? When do the rich people and largest corporations have to pay for THEIR MISTAKES? Why is it the taxpayer must pay for their failures?

    • 15 bucks an hour is unsustainable for the once snack food they serve……….minimum wages destroy jobs! They are getting out before Obama and Hillary get into their pocketbooks. I’m sure that Hillary or sanders can think of some communistic solution to provide lunch to America…………..

  2. I’m old enough to remember those old Mom and Pop, family owned and run hamburger joints – as we used to call them, back before McDonald’s rose to dominate the hamburger restaurant world. And, the food in those older family owned and operated burger joints was much tastier, and probably a heck of a lot healthier to eat, than the assembly line mystery chow that McDonald’s began to sell once it gained market dominance.
As for myself, I rarely patronize fast food restaurants and make a concerted effort to specifically steer clear of McDonald’s.
I can make better and healthier hamburgers (or turkey burgers) at home on my BBQ grill.

  3. The beginning of the end for pretty much any company these days is becoming publicly-traded on the stock market. From the moment of IPO, the corporation’s focus necessarily changes from the interests and well-being of their vendors, employees, and customers, to that of the preferred shareholders. The concept of perceptual revenue (and profit) growth on a planet of finite resources is ridiculous, but that’s how Wall Street works.

  4. This is a lie. Mcdonalds is converting corporate stores to franchisees. Sales are up with All day breakfast. Anyone that would believe any of this is a nut. Chipoltles has not been owned by Mdcdonalds for many years now. Idiots. Mcdonalds has no debt either.

  5. Brand lost its’ luster. Burgers got too small and they raised the prices. Branching out into all kinds of fancy stuff trying to be something to everybody that served only to embellish its rivals which came out with the fancy stuff already.
