People may be missing after Saturday’s wall of water in Bright Angel Canyon. First number was about 20 unaccounted. Later they walked it toward 15. Working estimate. Not a body count. Flood hit around 2:30 Saturday. Almost every footbridge on Bright Angel Creek is gone. 62 people already flown out. More lifts from Cottonwood and Phantom Ranch. No injuries on the ones they pulled. Colorado River closed because metal and junk washed in.

National Park Service asks public for help accounting for more than 20 people
The NPS said it was looking for information on more than 20 people who may have been in the Bright Angel Creek corridor, North Kaibab Trail, Bright Angel Campground or the area known as “the Box.”
62 people evacuated from Phantom Ranch and lower North Kaibab Trail
The flood began around 2:30 p.m. Saturday. By Sunday morning, 62 people had been evacuated, with additional evacuations planned from Cottonwood Campground and Phantom Ranch.
